CAROL GRIFFITH, a trailblazer in public service and union advocacy, is a 33-year civil servant with the New York City Police Department.

Carol was first elected as a Shop Steward in 2013. Her commitment to CWA Local 1180, its members, and her community is unwavering. In order to help make a difference and shape the Union’s message, she is heavily involved with a number of committees, including Local 1180’s Civil Rights and Equity Committee, Women’s Committee, Hispanic Committee, and Brooklyn Borough Community Coordinating Committee.

Additionally, she is actively involved with the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) and the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW).

Carol earned a Bachelor’s Degree from New York City College of Technology in 1996, and a Master’s of Public Administration from Brooklyn College in 2001.
